Effect of Heat Treatment on Mechanical Properties and Corrosion Resistance of 15-5PH Stainless Steel |

Abstract This paper studies the effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of 15-5PH precipitation hardening stainless steel, and observes the precipitated phase in steel.The results show that the strength of steel decreased with the aging temperature increased and the aging time extended, while the toughness of steel increased. This is caused by the reverse austenite volume fraction increased with the temperature raised; The pitting corrosion resistance of the steel reduced along with the aging temperature increased, the corrosion resistance of steel was at the poorest when aging at 580 and 600 ℃, while the corrosion resistance of steel reached the best and the strength was the highest when aging at 480 ℃, and the main precipitated phase was a rich copper phase of face-centered cubic structure in steel.
