Abstract In allusion to the burr problem of strip edge tearing zone after cutting edge in finishing line，fully combined with the characteristics of the disc shear device and shearing process，by tracking a large number of field test and theory research，the edge grinding device of the steel strip in finishing mill was designed，which has proved to be effective after field application，and the device can solve the "burr" problem in the strip edge tear zone effectively，and improve the quality of products greatly under the premise of not changing the production equipment and process of finishing unit，which creates greater economic benefits for the unit with further popularization and application value.
