Abstract Abstract: From 2005, series surveys and researches of the RHF technology have been done in Baosteel, and in Zhanjiang base of Baowu Group, the first RHF production line has been constructed in 2015, which has been put into production in 2016. After a series of improvements for the production line, such as the sludge drying system, the material batching system, the briquetting process and the RHF operation technology, the RHF production line in Baosteel has reached the designing output and the standard, and it has already became a world-class RHF production line. Many harmful impurities, such as Zn, K, Na, Pb, Cl have been removed from the iron and the zinc bearing dust and sludge by the RHF process. The DRI production has been returned to the iron and steel production line, and the high temperature steam has been returned to the steam system, and the zinc powder has become the material for the zinc metallurgy process, so the iron and zinc bearing dust and sludge can be utilized well. Furthermore, the laterite nickel ore treating process has been explored in the RHF production line, and it is a good exploration for the RHF process developing.
