Abstract:Continuous casting process and billet quality were directly impacted by the bath level of molten steel in tundish. The relationship among the slide gate of shroud nozzle, bath level of molten steel in tundish, nozzle clogging and casting speed during continuous casting process was investigated and analyzed; and the relevant mathematical relationship was also derived. Based on one actual steel industry, bath level in tundish and open percentage of slide gate in theory were calculated to some extent of nozzle clogging and casting speed. Then, the theoretical operation schedule was plotted in order to assist casting worker on the casting platform.
