Abstract:On the basis of analyzing the solidification and heat transfer process in crystallizer and secondary cooling zone for billet casting, the solidification and heat transfer software for billet casting was developed. The software was corrected based on practical production data, and numerical simulation for billet casing was carried out. The results show that the shell thickness of crystallizer will reduce 0.5-0.8 mm, and the center temperature at the incision surface will increase 12 ℃ when the casting speed increases 0.1 m/min and the billet is 165 mm×165 mm.
