Simulation on the discrete phase movement in mold with argon blowing process

Abstract:A mathematical model was developed to describe the bubble coalescence, inclusion coalescence, and inclusion adhesion mechanism on the bubbles in the continuous casting mold. This model included the Eulerian-Lagrangian method to predict the size, the speed of discrete phase (including the argon bubble and inclusion), etc. Though the statistical analysis of discrete particles (including the bubbles and inclusions), the effects of blowing argon on inclusion removal were obtained.
