Abstract:The solidified shell thickness of Q235B slab with cross section of 230 mm×1 510 mm was measured by the nail-shooting test at the speeds of 1.05 m/min in order to determine the length of the liquid phase and the solidification end point and verify the prediction results of the casting machine. Based on the measured data of solidified shell thickness during continuous casting and the calculated results of optimized solidification calculation model, the influences of technological parameters such as casting speed, superheat and specific water flow on the solidification end point position of continuous casting slab were analyzed so that the fitting relationship between solidification end point and technological parameters were obtained, thus providing the solidification state of slab. The research results provide a good foundation to apply soft reduction technique and electromagnetic stirring technology at the solidification end.
