Abstract:A three-dimensional mathematical model of final electromagnetic stirring (F-EMS) for round billet was established. The influence of different process parameters on magnetic flux density and electromagnetic force (EMF) was studied by ANSYS software. The results show that when the current intensity increases from 100 A to 400 A at 8 Hz, the magnetic flux density at the stirrer center increases from 19.5 mT to 77.9 mT, and the maximum tangential EMF on the cross section of the stirrer center increases from 115 N/m3 to 1 837 N/m3. When the current frequency increases from 4 Hz to 12 Hz at 300 A, the magnetic flux density at the stirrer center decreases from 60.3 mT to 55.6 mT, and the maximum tangential EMF increases from 550.2 N/m3 to 1 501.8 N/m3.
