Abstract:Clogging of submerged nozzle is still a key problem in continuous casting process. In order to solve the problem,people has putted forward some improvement measures,such as optimizing the form of submerged nozzle,improving the cleanliness of molten steel. This experiment uses the method of applying pulse current to the submerged nozzle to improve the clogging of submerged nozzle. Firstly,in laboratory conditions,we investigate the effect of pulse current on the migration behavior of Al2O3. Then,we find that the number of Al2O3 inclusion in sample with pulse current is more than the sample without pulse current. Field application results show that applying pulse current in continuous casting on the submerged nozzle can effectively reduce the nozzle clogging degree and prevent scabbing.
