Abstract：The slab surface quality is mainly determined by the stability of mould level control system. Excessive fluctuation of liquid level will lead to unnecessary grinding procedure or even degrade. This paper proposes a method based on the mould level control system of electric cylinder control. On September 7， 2017 in Panzhihua steel vanadium Co. Ltd. vanadium steel mill， No.1 slab continuous casting machine cast successfully. The practice proves that the system can accurately work on the slab mould level control， and help to obtain good quality of slab.
