Abstract:Super martensitic stainless steels (SMSSs) are widely used for oil & gas storage and transportation, automobile industry due to excellent combination of mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The effects of composition and heat treatment process on microstructure, mechanical and corrosion behavior are reviewed, based on literatures from the past few years. Here we focused on the following topics: methods and mechanisms to control fraction and stability of reversed Austenite, better performance via composition optimization, passivation mechanism and corrosion behavior under various service environments.
