Abstract:A water model with a similarity ratio of 1:2 was used to simulate the flow field in an asymmetric three-flow tundish. The results show that the prototype tundish has obvious short-circuit flow, large dead-zone volume ratio and poor consistency of flow at each outlet. By optimizing the structure of the tundish, the response time of each flow is consistent, the dispersion is reduced to 5.10, and the dead zone volume ratio is reduced to 13.15%. The tundish flow field is improved obviously.
