Abstract:In order to improve the cleanliness of 2205 duplex stainless steel, we adopted the low aluminum deoxidization process under the condition of having little effect on continuous casting, where the aluminum content was controlled at about 0.0045%. To change the type of inclusions into Calcium aluminate and Magnesium aluminum spinel.The experimental results showed that the total oxygen content of the molten steel was 15 ppm after the refining, and the solid-liquid ratio of the inclusion was 1, showing a state of semi-solid and semi-liquid.The path of inclusion composition was "MgO·Al2O3→MgO/MgO·Al2O3→CaO-MgO-Al2O3" in LF refining stage.The structural of the CaO-MgO-Al2O3system inclusions is different from the inclusion of conventional deoxidized aluminum killed steel.The core is pure MgO,the middle layer is MgO·Al2O3, and the outer layer is 3CaO·Al2O3.
