| Analysis and solving measures on surface longitudinal crack of continuous cast slab causing |

Abstract The carbon content of the steel, general produced in Lingyuan Iron & steel Co., LTD. continuous casting slab, is 0.08 ~ 0.16% peritectic steel. As the high casting speed made the meniscus heat-flow increases, serious surface cracks occured. By optimizing the technics, the equipment parameters and the structure of SEN and using the mold powder of good performance let the mold flow, the temperature and the solidified shell solidification uniformed, led the casting slab surface defect eliminated.
