The Comparison of Boundary Conditions Processing Methods of Slab Continuous Casting Secondary Cooling |

Abstract Two kinds of common processing method for boundary condition of secondary cooling with four kinds of empirical formula are used in this continuous casting of slab. In this paper take the same process parameters such as speed, the same intensity of secondary cooling, casting speed, casting temperature, steel gradetemperature as the mold initial parameters to calculate the Continuous Casting Slab temperature. At the same time, the same disposal method is used for solidification latent heat. After got the eight items simulation results then compared them with the measured values, form the results we can see that relative error is less than5% by using FCA to treatment boundary condition , but the relative error reached 8% when use MCA. By way of summary, FCA is the better method can accurate simulation the slab continuous casting process.
