Abstract Various problems arising from the submerged nozzle of wide slab caster of SISG during production were analyzed. The service life of the nozzle can be improved and the production accidents can be reduced by improving the material and size structure of SEN, optimizing the flow state and temperature distribution of molten steel in the mold and standardizing the SEN preheating. As a result, the slab quality has been improved significantly.
