Abstract On the background of continuous casting machine automation system upgrade, applications of automation softwares SIMENS S7 series PLC and INTOUCH 9.5, and development of new continuous casting process automation model etc. are elaborated. Combined with automatic control at the forefront of casting technology, all processing units of the caster control features for application were developed. Tundish balance control precision mould level control, increase of mould vibration precision and associated cast speed curve, secondary cooling water distribution optimization and other advanced features were accomplished. It is a successful case of continuous casting automation system that was developed and reformed completely domestic independently.
