Numerical simulation of regenerative ladle baking process and characteristics of[NOx]emissions |

Abstract In order to study the influence of air and gas preheating temperature in the regenerative ladle on the high temperature air combustion process, numerical simulation of gas flow, combustion and heat transfer in ladle during the baking process has been carried out. Using Fluent code with finite difference and Simple methods, the characteristics of high temperature diluted air in the chamber under different preheating temperatures of inlet gases and oxygen concentration field are analyzed numerically. Results evidence that higher temperature of inlet gases is favorable to the combustion process. Increasing the preheating temperature can increase the domain temperature and its uniformity and decrease the oxygen content of local flue in the chamber. The high baking efficiency can helps to reduce[NOx]emissions.
