Abstract Application of automatic operation technology in continuous casting of slab can reduce the labor intensity of workers. This technology palys a positive role and is applied widely and effective in the areas of unsteady state operations， such as improving the accuracy and quality of slab casting operation， SEN changing， fast-change of tundish， on-line width control of mold， partition pluging and cease pouring.
