Effect of Tempering Temperature on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of XCQ16 Axle Steel

Abstract��Effect of tempering process on the microstructure and mechanical properties of XCQ16 steel was investigated. The results show that XCQ16 steel present a wider tempering temperature range. The XCQ16 steel can obtain a favorable match between strength and toughness when quenching at 860 �� followed by tempering at 570 ��.
