Abstract��The fatigue crack growth rate is the core for assessing fatigue growth life by use of fatigue crack propagation (FCP) theory. Researching on the McEvily formula, considing the influence of elastic��plastic behavior and crack closure, fitting the slope to least square method, the modified McEvily formula is obtained. In this paper, the modified McEvily formula is validated with fatigue crack growth data for steel 45 which obtained from the aerospace launcher. The result shows that the modified formula has relatively good assessment accuracy, so it has a good foreground.
