AbstractBy means of the X-ray orientation distribution function (ODF) the texture characteristics of the low carbon steel sheet hot-rolled in austenitic zone along the plate width and thickness direction were studied. The results showed that: the main textures in the surface, 1/4 layer and 1/2 layer of austenitic zone hot-rolled low carbon steel sheet are {110}<111> and {001}<110> texture. The textures intensity in edge of austenitic zone hot-rolled low carbon steel sheet increase clearly, because the cooling speed of the hot-rolled steel sheet at the edge is fast. The surface texture of the hot-rolled low carbon steel sheet does not change strongly along the plate width, mainly because of the smaller deformation level and the complexity of deformation and the larger temperature change. The average texture intensity in the head of austenitic zone hot-rolled low carbon steel sheet is weaker, while the average texture intensity in the tail of austenitic hot-rolled low carbon steel sheet is higher, the reason is that the relativity temperature in the tail of the austenitic hot-rolled low carbon steel sheet is lower than in the head of the austenitic zone hot-rolled low carbon steel sheet.
