Impact of Tempering Temperature on Fracture Toughness of High Tenacious Steel(GDL��1)

Abstract��The fracture toughness of new tiny deformation steel(GDL��1) are studied at seven different heat treatment temperatures.The results show that in air��cooled state the fracture toughness, impact toughness is higher than that in oil quenching state, The amount of residual austenite after air cooling is greater than the one after oil cooling.The toughness of steel and the stability of residual austenite are improved, by means of tempering at 250~300 �� followed by ari��cooling,resulting in good fracture toughness.
