Abstract��A single��axis acoustic levitator was developed, which can levitate steel ball with density of 7��9 g/cm��3 stably. Two types of resonant chambers are selected to study the levitation performance in experiment. Numerical calculation and simulation of acoustic field using finite element analysis (FEA) are performed, the result indicates that the resonant chamber with concave spherical reflector can enhance the levitation performance��meanwhile the phenomenon that the sample moved along the concave surface of the reflector was analyzed. It is helpful to study further about levitation performance affected by the geometry of acoustic levitator.��
