Abstract��In order to find out the fracture reasons of the grooved coupling and fitting , which is built by Ductile Iron and used on fire fighting pipeline , microstructure, graphite morphology and composition of slag inclusion on the grooved coupling and fitting were analyzed by metallographic microscope ,SEM and energy spectrum analyzer. The results show that the fracture is due to the defect on the sample, such as large size slag inclusion, spheroidization failure and graphite floatation.
