AbstractEffect of temperature used for quenching at 8901040 on undissolved carbides and mechanical properties of UltrahighStrength steel has been investigated. The results have indicated that impact toughness of experimental steel reached peak value as content of undissolved MCcarbides is significantly decreased, and increase of lath martensite packets size did not lead to a marked decrease in strength and toughness of steel when austenitizing temperature increased to about 1010 .
