AbstractIn the present work, the effects of continuous annealing process on the microstructure and tensile properties of cold rolled dual phases steel have been studied by simulating the continuous annealing on a AWY-CCT simulator. The results show that ultimate tensile strength first decreases, and then increases gradually, and decreases again at last with the increasing soaking temperature. The soaking should make the steel get some austenite, but the overhigh soaking temperature will reduce the hardenability of austenite, which is bad for the mechanical properties for the rapid cooling process of gas spraying. In addition, the slow cooling after soaking is beneficial to formation of new ferrite, which is good for the plasticity of dual phase steel sheet.
