Abstract��During the ultrasonic inspection, it is hard to pick out the useful signal due to the strong noise background from coarse grain materials. Several new methods of signal processing were presented to improve the signal��noise��ratio of the materials, including correlation technology, expert system, wavelet packets noise reduction and neural networks. The principle and application for each method were introduced. It was shown that all these approaches make the signal processing technology of ultrasonic inspection more efficient and much in real time.
