Abstract��The nano Al��2O��3/Ni composite coating was prepared by plasma��spraying method. The surface morphologies and microstructure of Al��2O��3/Ni composite plasma��spraying were investigated by SEM and TEM��and it was abraded on abrasive mill to study its abrasive resistance property. The effect of the volume fraction, the size of nano Al��2O��3 on the abrasive wear property of the coating were studied.The result shows that the abrasive wear resistance property of the coating strengthened by the nano Al��2��O��3 coating is better than the uncoating powder, The nano Al��2O��3 coating improves the wetting property of the nano Al��2O��3 in the Ni��based coating and improves the abrasive resistance of the coating with 2vol/% addition of nanoer Al��2O��3, the coating has the best abrasive wear resistance property and is twice of the pure Ni��based powder coating with the same additive volume. The abrasive resistace of the coating increases as the size of the dispersion strengthening phase decrease.
