AbstractAnalysis of the cracking of 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel for pressure oil line was carried out by tensile test, microstructure observation and EDAX. The results show that the cracking of the pipe is a kind of stress corrosion cracking (SCC). The material is under strong strain hardening state due to the improper solution treatment which is unable to eliminate the residual stress, increasing the SCC. The steam formed during hot rolling with Cl,O is the environmental cause of SCC for oil line.
