Abstract��Different types of cup-cone fracture occurred during drawing of 65 Steel. Different morphologies of cup-cone fracture were analyzed by SEM, macro-fracture and metallographic, the results show that different types of cup-cone fractures are caused by different reasons. In the centre region there are abnormal structure, non-metallic inclusions, holes and "V" shaped gap, what is more, deformation degree at both ends of the gap is different. The reasons causing cup-cone fracture of 65 steel wire in drawing were segregation of components, aggregation of inclusions, residual shrinkage in the centre of wire rod and unsuitable for drawing process.
