Abstract��The weld fracture of drum was analyzed by means of chemical composition analysis, hardness testing, observation of microstructure and fracture and scanning electron microscope analysis. The result showed that the chemical composition of the hub was in line with national standards and its microstructure was normal. The phosphorus content of drum skin was higher than the national standard and its banded structure reaches as high as level 3, forming widmanstatten structure in welding heat affected zone, so that the weld metal toughness decreased dramatically and welding joint is brittle, leading to weld cracking.
