AbstractAccording to the characteristics of poor stamping of AZ31 magnesium alloy sheets at room temperature, the tensile test, Eriksson test and cone-cup test were made for the sheets obtained by different rolling temperatures and their microstructure, texture and formability were studied by optical microscopy (OM) and X-ray diffraction. The results show that the mechanical properties of magnesium alloy sheets not only depend on the grain size, but also on the grain orientation. The weakening of the basal texture can significantly improve the performance of bulging forming, and the grain size plays a decisive role on the formability of the magnesium alloy sheets at the similar intensity of basal texture.
