Abstract��According to the analysis on high-temperature mechanical property and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) detection to the defects surfaces of the slab sample, the mechanism of the cracks was found. So the measure was put forward by adjusting the chemical constituents of the steel with corresponding technological processing. The results of high-temperature mechanical property tests in different composition systems show that the third brittle zone varies with the carbon content and this zone will move left with the carbon content increases. So one kind of composition system of this steel was put forward according to the results with softer second cooling water on the slab corner, and now the corner cracks occur rarely.
