Abstract��The samples of the crack location and raw materials were observed and analyzed. The results show that there is thick scale on the inner surface of the cracking parts, where is seriously corroded. The pearlite tissue of the steel nearby the crack significantly degrad. The observations and analysis conclude that the boiler services in a over temperature state for a long time because of the scale, which leads to steel cracking by the scale corrosion and stress. The decline in mechanical properties accelerating the cracking process.
