Abstract��The cold bending fracture of A36 steel plate was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, optical microscopy and electron probe analysis, including fracture morphology, microstructure and composition. The results show that the cold bending fracture is due to thicker bainite on the surface of the plate.In addition,there are a large number of inclusions in steel especially manganese sulfide inclusions which result in the damage of matrix continuity. It is one of the reason of the cold bending fracture.
