Abstract��The inclusion and microstructure in tensile stratified sample of weathering steel Q450NQR1 were studied by means of sulfur print test��metallographic examination, scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectrum analysis to explore the cause of lamination in tensile specimen. The results show that higher segregation of S and Mn exist center of weathering steel Q450NQR1 slab. Nb, Ti and Cr contents are higher in the segregation band than other positions. Serious center segregation favors the appearance of pearlite banded structure, and banded MnS inclusion appears to crack easily in the tensile stress, thus causing the stratification.
