Abstract��The reason for the cracking of the hot rolled beam steel such as 510L, S610L, S750L produced by Shougang was discussed. The analysis of micro-structure was made on the cracked samples of steel grades 510L, S610L and S750L by optical microscope (OM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show that rolled-scale on the strip surface, serious central segregation band and the large size precipitates at the grain boundaries are the major reasons for cracking of the hot-rolled automobile beam steel during the stamping process.
