Abstract��There are mainly three types of defects in the substandard steel plates detected by ultrasonic inspection. These defective specimens were respectively tested by automatic ultrasonic flaw detection, manual ultrasonic detection and scanning electron microscope. The characteristics and forms of the defects were summarized. Some significant references can be provided to control defect, and improve the ability of non-destructive testing personnel.
