Abstract��The failure of TC4 and TC8 titanium alloy cutting tool was occurred?in the process of use. Failure cause of cutting tool was analyzed by means of metallographic analysis,mechanical property testing and nondestructive testing methods. The results show that the failure is caused by the cutting tool of cracking. Fatigue crack was appeared on cutting tool surface in the process of work, fatigue crack was initiated and propagated on the surface of?discontinuity?defect. The main cause of crack is rough surface of failure parts .
