AbstractIn order to discuss the mechanical properties of micro-phases in super-alloy, eutectic á and dendrite arm of directionally-solidified nickel-base super-alloy, which were along with or perpendicular to the columnar crystal, were characterized by nano-indentation. The results showed that, for directionally-solidified nickel-base super-alloy, the average hardness and elastic modulus of eutectic á which were along with or perpendicular to the columnar crystal <001> direction were significantly higher than dendrite arm; moreover, the average hardness and elastic modulus of eutectic á and dendrite arm that were along with the columnar crystal <001> direction were lower than that were perpendicular to the columnar crystal direction.
