AbstractThe multifractal spectrum calculation program was designed using VisualC++ based on Windows platform. The function principle and applications of this software were introduced. The multifractal spectra of sinter ores with different alkalinities were calculated using this software. The results characterized the distribution pattern of sinter pores quantitatively. With the increase of alkalinity the width[()]of multifractal spectrum increased from 0.53 to 0.58. The porous structure became more complex. The difference[(f)]of dimension between maximum and minimum probability subset of multifractal spectrum changed from 0.8 to0.23. The main pores in sinter ore changed from macropores to micropores. The porosity was improved. These results were consistent with the transmission electron microscopy images. The multifractal software could accurately and intuitively reflect the surface morphology of pores in sinter ores realizing the automation of multifractal spectrum calculation.
