Abstract��Fold cracks on the surface of circular tube were reached by using acid pickling�� morphology analysis�� metallographic analysis and electron microscope analysis. The results indicate that the slab surface scratches�� surface and subsurface pore can lead to round steel surface cracks. There are no inclusions inside the round steel crack. The cracks have no inward extending trend. Decarburized layer analysis of circular tube and round steel shows that the cracks on the surface of round steel are the direct cause of surface fold on the steel pipe.
