Abstract��In view of surface scab phenomenon of Q345B steel�� the chemical composition and metallographic structure were systemically analyzed and observed. The analysis results showed that the high level of inclusions in material and internal stress in rolling process were the main factors to cause surface scab. Therefore�� the further optimization of smelting procedures�� the control of chemical composition�� inclusion and cleanliness of molten steel could effectively prevent the surface scab of steel products.
