Abstract��The impact values of E-grade steel plates with addition of Nb and Ti were instable in production process. The one-time percent of pass was low. Aiming at these problems�� the function of added Nb and Ti elements in production process of steel plate in Nanyang Hanye Special Steel was analyzed by high-magnification metallographic examination�� scanning electron microscope and energy spectrum analysis. The results showed that the addition of Nb and Ti had great influence on the quality of steel plate. Moreover�� the variation of Nb and Ti content as well as the fluctuation production process showed different influence on the quality of steel plate. The impact value was affected by several factors. The main cause of the substandard impact property of steel plate produced in Hanye Special Steel was obtained.
