AbstractThe influence of various annealing temperatures on mechanical properties of 0.18 mm tinplate was investigated by uniaxial tensile tests. The aging resistance properties of tinplate were studied using X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS). The results showed that when the annealing temperature increased from 660 to 700 棬 the yield strength decreased from 295 MPa to 274 MPa the tensile strength decreased from 371 MPa to 352 MPa the percentage elongation after fracture increased from 24.2% to 27.8% the grain size increased from 5.4 m to 5.8 m the surface Rockwell hardness decreased from 57.9 HR 30T to 54.5 HR 30T the relative mass content of solid solution C decreased from 90.5% to 88.1% and the relative mass content of solid solution N decreased from 88.7% to 83.7%. The tested sheet exhibited good plasticity lower surface Rockwell hardness as well as content of solid solution C and N were more accordant with the national standard when the annealing temperature is 700 .
