Abstract��The hot rolled wire of electromagnetic pure iron was observed at low magnification. The inclusions in wire were analyzed by high-magnification metallographic microscope�� scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectrum(EDS). The results showed that the inclusions in steel were single Al2O3 inclusion�� which were mainly distributed in dot or line form in a quarter of cross section. Moreover�� the inclusions were extended along the longitudinal direction of wire. Based on the source of inclusions in this steel�� there were three key measures to reduce inclusions in production process were proposed.
