Abstract��Electromagnetic NDT techniques are developed and popularized quickly in the domestic metallurgical industry in nearly twenty or thirty years. At present�� the electromagnetic NDTs are generally required for most of the steel materials needed to carry out non destructive testing. Industrial development and user requirements are the driving forces of the progress of the electromagnetic NDT techniques. The characteristics of the electromagnetic NDT for steel products were summarized�� and the conventional ET and array ET�� DC-FT and AC-FT�� conventional MT and purity test used in iron and steel enterprises were introduced .
