AbstractThe factors affecting the measurement of the mean linear expansion coefficient using the horizontal single-line jack dilatometer were systematically analyzed. And the test error sources were in the following areas the factors affecting the temperature changes including the bad sealing condition of the furnace door no temperature compensation function and the lack of the initial temperature equilibrium time the factors affecting the accurate measurement of the thermal expansion including the ejector pins were inclined the sample was not perpendicular to the axis the constant temperature water circulation system was not normal or cycle time was not enough the sample chamber was not level etc. the factors affecting the accurate measurement of the initial length including the ambient temperature humidity and precision measuring tools and so on. And the notice and method which can reduce the measuring error were put forwards.
