AbstractThe influence of DyF3 addition on magnetic properties and corrosion resistance properties of Nd0.8Pr0.215.5FebalB6 magnets was investigated by scanning electron microscope electrochemical corrosion and magnetic test. The results showed that coercivity Hcj and self-corrosion potential Ecorr of the magnet with 0.51% DyF3 addition were increased and the polarization current density Icorr was much lower than that of the magnet without additives when there are the same anode potential. It revealed that intergranular addition of DyF3 could improve the corrosion resistance of Nd0.8Pr0.215.5FebalB6 magnets. Furthermore the microstructure of magnets after DyF3 addition also indicated the improvement of magnetic properties and corrosion resistance of magnets were improved by ROF intergranular phase.
